Safe Families partners with churches to help connect parents in distress with host families.
A Child's Hope Spokane has existed in Spokane since 2011, providing no-fee adoptions to Christian families in Spokane County. Formerly Antioch Adoption, A Child's Hope places children from the state foster program and from crisis pregnancies into permanent forever families. Our church will be highlighting this ministry in November (National Adoption month) and again in May (National Foster Care month).
Late August update from A Child's Hope Spokane indicates that they have been very busy this summer! From a recent email update: In the last couple months we have placed seven kids! One of our single moms just celebrated an adoption with her 11 year-old daughter and the next day got placement of another 12 year old girl! This amazing mom feels God has called her to adopt 4 teenage girls. Another one of our single moms, who is also a doctor, just got placement of a 3 year-old sibling brother to her already adopted baby. The last few months we also have been working with a birth mom who was planning to place with a family as a second time, but decided in the end to parent the baby herself. We have been working to help these birth parents get the baby items they need and ongoing support and counseling.
We are excited to share this organization with our congregation and begin to engage in orphan care ministry as a community of faith and help the lives of these children and families be transformed for Christ.
